What is Soulwinning?

Soulwinning is the God ordained method we follow to obey Christ’s commandment to bring forth fruit unto eternal life.

Joh 15:16  Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

In John 15:16, the bible specifically states that the purpose of every saved, born again believer is to bring forth fruit. Proverbs 11:30 tells us that this is accomplished when you win a soul to Christ.

Pro 11:30  The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

When we go out into the neighborhoods and streets of our city and persuade men and women to be saved, we are accomplishing Christ’s will for our lives and are in full obedience to Jesus Christ’s command that we should bring forth much fruit.

Joh 15:4  Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

Joh 15:5  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Joh 15:6  If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

If Stedfast Baptist Church fails to bring forth fruit, we will, like many other IFB churches, will eventually be broken off and cast away. If you walk into the average independent, fundmental, KJV only, bible-believing baptist church, you will notice that they are a few heartbeats from the spiritual morge. A big reason many churches who were once known for being soulwinning powerhouses die, wither away, and are scattered abroad is because they failed to keep soulwinning as the main priority for their church.

Why do you go out Soulwinning?

Mar 16:15  And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Jesus Christ commands us to preach the gospel to the entire world.

But not only is it the commandment of God, preaching the gospel is the only way that you can get someone saved. The bible says that it “pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.” The only way anyone can get saved is if someone else who has already been saved shows them through the word of God how to be saved.

Rom 10:13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Rom 10:14  How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

If you do not have a preacher present to show someone how to be saved, they cannot be saved.

Rom 10:15  And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Rom 10:16  But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

Rom 10:17  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The Bible reiterates the fact that people need to hear the word of God to be saved.  Without a preacher, the unsaved world is damned without hope to an eternity of hellfire. Stedfast Baptist Church takes this responsibility very seriously and gears the entire ministry around the purpose of equiping its members with the ability to go out and preach the gospel effectively.

Why not use Gospel Tracts? Can’t my neighbor read a tract and get saved?

No! The Bible teaches us that “..the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” An unsaved man, without the help of a saved man, cannot be saved because he has no spiritual discernment. It is foreign to him and cannot be understood by himself. The words of God are Spirit and they require a man who has the Spirit to be understood.

In Acts 8, we have an example of somebody who was reading Isaiah 53, a clear chapter that explains what Jesus Christ did for us, and yet the ethiopian eunech had no clue what he needed to do to be saved. “How can I?” said he, “except some man should guide me?”  The only way for a man, woman, boy, or girl to believe on Jesus  Christ is if a saved preacher who is filled with the Spirit of God opens their mouth boldly and makes known unto them the mystery of the Gospel. Its called a mystery for a reason friend. They need a guide who has the light of life inside them to guide their heart into the ways of peace. An unsaved man is in darkness. They are blind. It doesn’t matter how many verses they read, how many books they pick up, the only way an unsaved man can be saved and escape the damnation of hell is if another man, woman, boy, or girl who is already saved preaches to them the mystery of Christ.

How Do I Get Started?

Show Up at the church building during our churchwide soulwinning times and we will pair you with an experienced soulwinner who has had success winning other people to Christ. We have a sample plan of salvation you can print out and use to get started at the bottom of this page.

If you have never gone soulwinning, don’t worry! We we pair you with somebody who has had experience and success winning other people to Christ. You can be their silent partner and give them the prayer and encouragement they need to endure when knocking the doors in our city!

Do I Have to Be a Member to Go Soulwinning With Stedfast Baptist Church?

No! There are only two requirements you have to go out soulwinning

1. Be Saved – You must believe that salvation is strictly obtained by faith in Jesus Christ without any good works (Good Works = Going to Church, Turning From Your Sins, Keeping the Commandments) and that once you are saved, you are saved forever.

2. Be In Good Standing As a Christian – If you have been kicked out of church for a biblical reason (Romans 16, Matthew 18, 1st Corinthians 5), you must reconcil yourself with that church before soulwinning with Stedfast Baptist Church.
